Welcome to the Sawdust City Fright Fest!

Please stay tuned as we continue to evolve into a safe, horror loving community for independent filmmakers and those who support them.

Our first effort as an organization is a one day, curated festival scheduled for Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at the historic Time Community Theater in beautiful downtown Oshkosh, WI. We have a diverse line up of independent horror films ready for your entertainment.

Kicking off the weekend on Friday, October 8th at 7 pm, for those as eager as us for this new festival, is the cult classic, Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966). There is no admission fee for this Friday night feature, but we encourage those attending to enjoy the concessions stand and make a small donation to the Time Community Theater, as they are a non-profit and all of their staff are volunteers.

On Saturday October 9th at 1 pm, we will begin our first of two blocks of carefully selected independent horror short films. We are expecting some filmmakers to be in attendance for a brief Q&A about their film(s) during the intermission between the blocks of shorts. Wrapping up the 2021 SCFF curated fest, will be the direct sequel to our Friday night feature, Manos Returns (2018).

Admission for the full day festival is $10 or $4 if you choose just to come Saturday evening for Manos Returns.

Check back soon for more information about this and future festival details.

About Mojodawn

I've been a fan of the horror genre all my life, ever since I accidentally saw the "Here's Johnny" scene from The Shining in the theater as a child. I don't consider myself a reviewer, but I do have a blog where I write my thoughts on some of the films I watch. I've been attending independent film festivals for many years and was a committee member of the North East Wisconsin (NEW) Horror Film Festival since 2016.
